Central Madrasah Examination Board for Senior Madrasah Education was established in 1927 to conduct the Madrasah Examinations till 1947. In 1946, Central Madrasah Examination Board was changed to the Madrasah Education Board and later, in 1950 it was renamed as the West Bengal Madrasah Education Board (WBBME). Once again in 1994, the Board had been given the status of a statutory autonomous body by passing the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education Act 1994.The main function of board is to conduct two types of Madrasah Education as name of High madrasah education system and Senior Madrasah Education System examination in state. WBBME has conducted west Bengal madrasah examination in early month of year 2014.
